O
revolucionário álbum ao vivo do THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND “At Fillmore
East”, de 1971, foi o primeiro colocado na escolha dos leitores. Em
segundo, o registro único do DEREK AND THE DOMINOS, "Layla and Other
Assorted Love Songs", de 1970 e, no terceiro lugar, a coletânea "Led

Uma menção honrosa vai para o Led Zeppelin,

Surpreendentemente, álbuns de heavy metal/hard rock de bandas como OZZY OSBOURNE, Metallica
e STEVE VAI roubaram o foco das atenções dos "três grandes" - THE
BEATLES, ROLLING STONES e THE WHO - que ficaram representados nas duas
listas apenas com dois álbuns cada: “Rubber Soul" e "Revolver", dos
Beatles, de 1965 e 1966; "Sticky Fingers" (1971) e "Exile On Main
Street" (1972) dos Stones; e "Live At Leeds" (1970) e "Who's Next",
clássico de 1971 do THE WHO.
Eddie Van Halen
admite que não consegue escolher uma música ou álbum favorito da sua
carreia de quase 35 anos. "Bem, vou dizer a vocês - pra mim, todos eles
são especiais", diz ele. "Eles são todos um pouco diferentes, mas eu amo
todos. Você sabe, eles são um pedaço de mim, por isso são todos muito
especiais."
Gregg Allman considera que as jams longas e
espontâneas - como as ouvidas nos lendários shows do início dos ALLMMANS
- são a principal razão para a banda se manter sempre recente ano após
ano. "Há algumas jams que são famosas, e são muito divertidas, pois você
pode tocar sempre e trazer muitas coisas novas", diz ele. "Mas quando é
a mesma coisa repetidamente, é uma chatice. É mesmo. E assim, eu
